An improved method for programming a vehicle remote entry receiver (24) includes transmitting the information over the vehicle data bus line (26). A diagnostic box (28) which is typically utilized to check the electrical systems on the vehicle is provided with a switch (34) that moves the vehicle receiver into a programming mode. Information with regard to the transmitters that are to be associated with the vehicle receiver may then be transmitted over the bus line to the receiver. Alternatively, the receiver itself may capture the transmitter signals.
La présente invention concerne un procédé amélioré permettant de programmer le récepteur (24) d'entrée à distance d'un véhicule, lequel procédé consiste à transmettre les informations sur la ligne de bus de données (26) du véhicule. Une boîte de diagnostic (28), généralement utilisée pour contrôler les systèmes électriques sur le véhicule, est munie d'un commutateur (34) qui place le récepteur du véhicule en mode de programmation. Les informations relatives aux émetteurs qui doivent être associées au récepteur du véhicule peuvent alors être transmises au récepteur sur la ligne de bus. Selon un autre mode de réalisation, le récepteur lui-même peut accrocher les signaux de l'émetteur.
