A method of treating vehicular brake pads to increase the wearability of the pads by allowing them to absorb and dissipate more energy with each use. The method involves a controlled thermal cycling process which lowers the temperature of the pads to about .300 °F and holding the pads at this temperature for a predetermined time. The pads are then gradually warmed to room temperature (72 °F).
Selon un procédé de traitement de plaquettes de freins à disque d'un véhicule, on accroît la résistance à l'usure des plaquettes en leur permettant d'absorber et de dissiper davantage d'énergie à chaque utilisation. Ce procédé implique un processus de cyclage thermique qui abaisse la température des plaquettes à environ -300 ~F et les maintient à cette température sur une période prédéterminée. Les plaquettes sont ensuite graduellement réchauffées jusqu'à ce qu'elles atteignent la température ambiante (72 ~F).
