Methods of preventing, reducing, or treating corneal transplant rejection to improve transplant survival in a subject in need thereof comprising administering an agent capable of blocking or inhibiting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) are provided. The methods are useful for inhibiting or preventing corneal transplant rejection in a human subject who is the recipient of a transplanted cornea.

L'invention concerne des méthodes de prévention, de réduction ou de traitement du rejet de greffon cornéen, permettant d'améliorer la survie du greffon chez un sujet subissant une transplantation. Ces méthodes consistent à administrer un agent capable de bloquer ou d'inhiber le facteur de croissance endothéliale vasculaire (VEGF). Ces méthodes permettent d'inhiber ou de prévenir efficacement le rejet de greffon cornéen chez un sujet humain subissant une transplantation de la cornée.
