A method of treating a disorder characterized by the overexpression of deaminase or deoxycytidine deaminase in a subject in need of such treatment is disclosed. The method comprises administering a compound of Formula (I) wherein X and X1 are each independently C or N; R1 is lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, halogen, or haloalkyl; and R2 is H, -N3, -OH, amino, or halogen; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, to the subject in an amount effective to treat the disorder. Pharmaceutical formulations useful in the method of the present invention are also disclosed.
L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement des troubles caractérisés par une surexpression de la cytidine-désaminase ou de la désoxycytidine-désaminase chez les patients affectés. Le procédé consiste à administrer aux patients un composé de la formule (I). Dans ladite formule, X et X¿1? sont indépendamment C ou N; R¿1? est alkyle inférieur, alcényle inférieur, alcynyl inférieur, halogène ou haloalkyle; R¿2? est H, -N¿3?, -OH, amino, ou halogène; ou bien un sel pharmaceutiquement acceptable de ce type de composé. On administre les composés dans une proportion efficace pour traiter les troubles. Il est également fait référence à des formulations pharmaceutiques susceptibles d'être utilisées dans le cadre du traitement.
