This invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for treating a mammal which presents with heart failure comprising a therapeutically effective amount of 4-(1-ethyl-propoxy)- 3,6-dimethyl-2-(2,4,6-trimethyl-phenoxy)-pyridine and (3,6- dimethyl-2-(2,4,6-trimethyl-phenoxy)-pyridin-4-yl)-(1-ethyl- propyl)-amine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, together with a pharmaceutically acceptable diluent or carrier. Preferably, the pharmaceutical composition further comprises a congestive heart failure treating agent. The invention also relates to use of the active ingredients of the pharmaceutical composition disclosed for the manufacture of a medicament for treating heart failure in a mammal, as well as to a related kit and commercial package.
