A method of treating non-streptococcal baterial infections in a mammal comprising administering to the mammal an effective amount of modified C-reactive protein (CRP) in a pharmaceutically-acceptable earner. Modified-CRP has been found to be particularly effective in treating gram-negative bacterial infections and endotoxic shock.

Procédé de traitement d'infections bactériennes non streptococciques chez un mammifère consistant à administrer à ce dernier une dose efficace de protéine C-réactive (CRP) modifiée dans un excipient pharmaceutiquement acceptable. On a découvert que la CRP modifiée est particulièrement efficace dans le traitement d'infections bactériennes et de chocs endotoxiques à germes Gram négatif.
