Disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions for increasing toxicity of chemotherapy agents for treating mammalian cancer tumors, preferably solid tumors, comprising an effective amount of a 1,2,4-benzotriazine oxide compound of Formula I: (See Fig. I) [wherein X is H, (substituted)hydrocarbyl, halogen, OH, alkoxy or (substituted)amino, n is 0 or 1, and Y1 and Y2 are each H, nitro, halogen, (substituted)hydrocarbyl, etc.] or pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof. Also disclosed are kits for treatment of such tumors which comprise a chemotherapy agent and a cytotoxicity-enhancing amount of a 1,2,4-benzotriazine oxide compound of Formula I.
