A method of turning food items baked on a shallow baking pan. A first step involves placing food items on a first shallow baking pan and baking for a predetermined time period. A second step involves inverting a second shallow baking pan and placing the second shallow baking pan overlying the first shallow baking pan in face to face relation. The food items are compressed between the first shallow baking pan and the second shallow baking pan. A third step involves rotating the first shallow baking pan and the second shallow baking pan until the food items are positioned on the second shallow baking pan. A fourth step involves removing the first shallow baking pan and resuming baking with the food items on the second shallow baking pan.
