A method of using a coloring composition in a concrete based composition comprises adding a coloring composition to a mixing container. The coloring composition comprises (i) about 80 to about 94 weight percent of an aqueous carrier; (ii) about 0.01 to about 15 weight percent of a pigment; (iii) about 0.5 to about 10 weight percent of a suspension enhancing agent; and (iv) about 0.5 to about 10 weight percent of a latex polymer solid. The method also comprises adding additional water to the mixing container; and adding cement to the mixing container.
