A method of triggering IF or IS handover between two WCDMA carriers or a WCDMA carrier and a GSM carrier. Six triggering conditions are used to initiate the search for an alternative network connection by starting the handover measurements. They are: a) mobile unit (15, figure 9) power above a threshold for longer than a specified time; b) connection base (70) power downlink power above a threshold longer than a specified time; c) mobile unit (15) power has reached a max value a specified number of times; d) SIR at the base (70) has exceeded a threshold value for a period of time; e) mobile terminal (15) power has exceeded a threshold and the gradient of the power control signature indicates sudden rise to maximum power; and f) pilot power measured at the mobile (15) has fallen below a threshold for longer than a specified time.
L'invention concerne un procédé de déclenchement de transfert IF ou IS entre deux porteuses WCDMA ou une porteuse WCDMA et une porteuse GSM. Six conditions de déclenchement sont utilisées afin d'initier la recherche d'une connexion réseau alternative par démarrage des mesures de transfert. Lesdites conditions sont les suivantes a) puissance d'une unité mobile (15) supérieure à un seuil sur une durée supérieure à une durée déterminée ; b) puissance de liaison descendante de la base de connexion (70) supérieure à un seuil sur une durée supérieure à une durée déterminée ; c) puissance d'une unité mobile (15) égale à une valeur maximale un certain nombre de fois ; d) rapport signal sur bruit à la base (70) supérieur à un seuil sur une durée déterminée ; e) puissance de l'unité mobile (15) supérieure à un seuil et gradient de la signature de commande de puissance indiquant une augmentation brusque de la puissance maximale ; et, f) puissance pilote mesurée sur l'unité mobile (15) inférieure à un seuil sur une durée supérieure à une durée déterminée.
