A spool consists of a filament wound onto a bobbin, comprising: - a first layer wound in a helical pattern; - a transition from each odd layer to the following even layer, which is formed at a predetermined angle; - a plurality of layers, each layer, except the first layer, including two cross-over lines, wherein at each even layer a first cross-over line starts at the transition point, and a second cross-over line starts 180° apart; and wherein at each odd layer, except the first layer, the cross-over lines coincide with those of the preceding, even layer.
