Disclosed is a method or agent for inhibiting the function of an efflux pump of Pseudomonas aeruginosa with good efficiency. The method comprises modifying any amino acid residue selected from 100th to 109th amino acid residues and 311th to 320th amino acid residues in an amino acid sequence for mature OprM protein. Also disclosed is an agent having an activity of the inhibition mentioned above. Further disclosed is a method for screening of the agent.

L'invention concerne un procédé ou un agent permettant d'inhiber de façon efficace la fonction d'une pompe à éjection de Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Le procédé consiste à modifier tout résidu d'acide aminé sélectionné parmi les résidus d'acides aminés 100 à 109 et les résidus d'acides aminés 311 à 320 dans une séquence d'acides aminés pour une protéine mûre OprM. L'invention concerne également un agent ayant une activité inhibitrice telle que susmentionnée. Un procédé pour cribler l'agent est aussi divulgué.
