Device and method to control the vibrations in a rolling stand comprising working rolls (13) connected to a single motor mean (26) by a kinematic chain comprising motion-splitting pinions (20) and spindles (16), the method providing to detect the working conditions of at least some of the elements (20, 16, 13) of the kinematic ring, to send the signals relating to the detected data to a control unit (19), to process the signals to verify the existence of vibrations in the stand (11) and to provide the motor (26) with a damping torque which, applied to the kinematic chain, causes the vibrations to be damped.

L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé de contrôle des vibrations dans une cage de laminoir qui comprend des cylindres de travail (13) connectés à un moteur unique (26) par une chaîne cinématique constituée de pignons de répartition du mouvement (20) et d'axes(16). Le procédé permet de relever les conditions de travail d'au moins certains éléments (20, 16, 13) de la chaîne cinématique, afin d'envoyer les signaux correspondants à la zone contrôlée, à une unité de contrôle (19), en vue de traiter les signaux et de vérifier ainsi l'existence de vibrations dans la cage de laminoir (11) et aussi de fournir au moteur (26) un couple d'amortissement qui, appliqué à la chaîne cinématique, permet d'amortir les vibrations.
