A papermaker's fabric formed of a woven fabric strip (16). The fabric strip (16) has a width less than a width (W) of the papermaker's fabric, a main portion (29) that is in form of a multi-layer weave, and two lateral edges (30, 32) that are in the form of the weaves having fewer layers than the main portion. The edges (30, 32) are formed such that when the fabric strip (16) is wound around in a continuous spiral fashion to form a papermaker's fabric, the lateral edges (30, 32) overlap one another forming a spiral seam which has a number of layers equal to that of the main portion.
L'invention porte sur un tissu utilisé dans la fabrication du papier constitué d'une bande de tissu tissé. La bande de tissu possède une largeur inférieure à une largeur du tissu utilisé dans la fabrication du papier, une partie principale qui se présente sous la forme d'une armure multicouches, et deux rebords latéraux qui se présentent sous la forme d'armures possédant moins de couches que la partie principale. Les rebords sont formés de manière que lorsque la bande de tissu est enroulée dans le sens continu d'une spirale afin de former un tissu utilisé dans la fabrication du papier, les rebords latéraux se chevauchent afin de former une couture de spirale qui a un certain nombre de couches égal à celui de la partie principale.
