A method and apparatus for installing a pipe casing (18) underground without a trench for distances up to 400 feet with pipe casing up to 168 inches in diameter. The system uses a modified high energy piling hammer (12) to mobilize the energy to drive the casings (18). The pile driving hammer (12) is held against the pipe casing (18) to be driven with a force equal to the reactional force of the hammer (12) during recharching of the hammer's system. A helmet (40) and cutting head (20) increase operational capabilities.

Cette invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant d'installer sous terre une gaine (18) de tuyau sans creuser de tranchée sur des distances pouvant atteindre 400 pieds, le diamètre de la gaine de tuyau pouvant atteindre 168 pouces. Ce système utilise un marteau de battage (12) à haute énergie modifié pour mobiliser l'énergie afin d'acheminer les gaines (18). Ce marteau de battage (12) est maintenu contre la gaine (18) de tuyau à acheminer avec une force égale à la force de réaction du marteau (12) pendant le rechargement du système du marteau.
