Method to manage an insulated cooling bed placed downstream of at least one continuous casting machine with one or more feeder ways (12a, 12b, 12c, 12d) and upstream of an outlet rollerway (20) associated with a reheating and temperature-equalisation furnace (15) serving a rolling mill (16), the cooling bed (11) comprising at the inlet a first bridge crane transfer (21a) to load the billets (13) from the feeder ways (12a, 12b, 12c, 12d) and cooperating at the outlet with a bench (14) to collect the billets (13), wherein the first bridge crane transfer (21a) removes the billets (13) from one rollerway (12) or the other and lays them gradually onto the cooling bed (11) insulated at least at the lower part, a second bridge crane transfer (21b) removes the billets (13) from one or another rollerway (12) or from the cooling bed (11) and lays the billets (13) on the outlet rollerway (20) or on the collection bench (14), the billets (13) being made to advance on the cooling bed (11) rotating on their axis. Cooling bed placed between at least a continuous casting machine and a rolling mill (16), including upstream one or more feeder rollerways (12) and downstream an outlet rollerway (20) associated with a bench (14) to collect cold billets and with a reheating and temperature-equalisation furnace (15), the bed comprising positioning seatings (19) for the billets (13) and a first bridge crane transfer (21a), the cooling bed (11) including at least at the lower part an insulated containing structure (18) and comprising a second bridge crane transfer (21b) which is driven autonomously and independently in relation to the first bridge crane transfer (21a), the second bridge crane transfer (21b) being functionally associated at least with the feeder rollerways (12), the positioning seatings (19) for the billets (13) and the outlet rollerway (20).
Principe d'exploitation d'un lit de refroidissement isolé placé en aval d'au moins une machine de coulée continue à laquelle il est relié par un ou plusieurs transporteurs d'alimentation à rouleaux (12a, 12b, 12c, 12d) et en amont d'un transporteur d'évacuation à rouleaux (20) menant à un four de réchauffage et de stabilisation (15) qui alimente un laminoir (16). Le lit de refroidissement (11) comporte à sa partie amont un premier pont-grue de transfert (21a) servant à charger les billettes (13) amenées par les rouleaux d'alimentation (12a, 12b, 12c, 12d) et est relié en aval à une table (14) de stockage des billettes (13). Le premier pont-grue de transfert (21a) prend les billettes (13) sur l'un ou l'autre des transporteurs d'alimentation (12) et les dépose sur le lit de refroidissement (11), dont la partie inférieure au moins est isolée, et un deuxième pont-grue de transfert (21b) prend les billettes (13) sur l'un ou l'autre des transporteurs d'alimentation (12) ou sur le lit de refroidissement (11) et les dépose sur le transporteur d'évacuation (20) ou sur la table (14), les billettes (13) avançant sur le lit de refroidissement en tournant autour de leur axe. Lit de refroidissement à placer entre au moins une machine de coulée continue et un laminoir (16) et relié en amont à un ou plusieurs transporteurs d'alimentation à rouleaux (12) et, en aval, à un transporteur d'évacuation à rouleaux (20) menant à une table (14) où sont placées les billettes refroidies puis à un four de réchauffage et de stabilisation (15), ledit lit de refroidissement (11) comportant des éléments de positionnement (19) des billettes (13), un premier pont-grue de transfert (21a), un récipient isolé (18) constituant la partie inférieure au moins du lit de refroidissement et un deuxième pont-grue de transfert (21b) autonome et indépendant du premier et associé au moins aux rouleaux d'alimentation (12), aux éléments de positionnement (19) des billettes (13) et aux rouleaux d'évacuation (20).
