A system and method for suppressing redundant database queries between two switching points in a telecommunications system, where the switching points are unable to utilize the ISUP communication protocol. The system and method are implemented by using a parameter of the communications protocol to indicate whether a database query has been performed. When the receiving switch receives the information, the switch is suppressed from performing a redundant database query by the parameter of the communications protocol.

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant d'éliminer les requêtes redondantes en bases de données entre deux points de commutation dans un système de télécommunications, dans le cas où ces points de commutation sont incapables d'utiliser le protocole de communication ISUP (protocole du sous-système utilisateur RNIS). La mise en oeuvre du système et du procédé utilise un paramètre du protocole de communications pour indiquer qu'il y a eu exécution d'une requête en base de données. Dès que le commutateur récepteur a reçu l'information, il ne lui appartient plus de faire de requête redondante en base de données en raison du paramètre du protocole de communications.
