A method for calculating a center frequency and a bandwidth for a radar doppler filter (308) is herein described. The center frequency and bandwidth are calculated to provide radar performance over varying terrain and aircraft altitude, pitch, and roll. The method includes receiving an antenna mounting angle, a slant range, and velocity vectors in body coordinates, calculating a range swath doppler velocity (460), a track and phase swath bandwidth (468), and a phase swath doppler velocity (464). The method continues by calculating a range swath center frequency (462) based on the range swath doppler velocity, calculating a phase swath center frequency (466) based on the phase swath doppler velocity, and calculating a level and verify swath bandwidth (470) based upon the track and phase swath bandwidth.

La présente invention concerne un procédé qui permet de calculer une fréquence centrale et une largeur de bande pour un filtre Doppler (308) de radar. Selon l'invention, on calcule la fréquence centrale et la largeur de bande afin d'assurer une performance du radar sur des terrains et à une altitude de vol variables, pour un tangage et un roulis variables. Le procédé de l'invention consiste à recevoir un angle de montage d'antenne, une distance oblique et des vecteurs de vitesse en coordonnées de fuselage, à calculer une vitesse Doppler de couloir en distance (460), une largeur de bande de couloir de poursuite et en phase (468), et une vitesse Doppler de couloir en phase (464). Selon le procédé, on calcule ensuite une fréquence centrale de couloir en distance (462) sur la base de la vitesse Doppler de couloir en distance, on calcule une fréquence centrale de couloir en phase (466) sur la base de la vitesse Doppler de couloir en phase, et on calcule une largeur de bande de couloir de niveau et de vérification (470) sur la base de la largeur de bande de couloir de poursuite et en phase.
