The present invention is a communication unit (18) for exchanging data. More specifically, the unit (18) includes an initiator (20) and a responder (24) that exchange data with a single time base. In one embodiment, the initiator (20) generates a time base output signal that is used for determining a multiple of the rate at which data will be transferred to the responder (24). When data is received from the responder (24), the time base signal is used to over-sample the data to determine the point at which the data from the responder (24) is valid.

L'invention porte sur une unité de télécommunications (18) servant à l'échange de données et comportant plus spécifiquement un initiateur (20) et un répondeur (24) échangeant des données avec une seule base de temps. Dans une exécution, l'initiateur (20) produit un signal de sortie de la base de temps servant à déterminer un multiple du débit de transfert des données vers le répondeur (24). Au reçu des données par le répondeur (24), on utilise le signal de la base de temps pour les suréchantillonner et en déterminer le point de validité.
