This invention pertains to the general field of mi-crobiology, and more specifically to transfer, inoculation and/or streaking of micro-organisms, e.g. for the purpose of obtaining individual colonies. Provided is a method for streaking a mi-crobial sample onto a solid carrier, comprising the steps of: a) contacting at least one ferromagnetic particle with a solid car-rier, followed or preceded by providing the particle with at least part of said sample, and b) applying a magnetic field gradient to allow for magnetically controlled motion of said particle on said surface, such that at least part of the sample is streaked onto the solid carrier. Also provided is an apparatus for carrying out such method in an (semi-)automated fashion.
Cette invention appartient au domaine général de la microbiologie, et plus spécifiquement, elle concerne des procédés pour transférer, inoculer le micro-organismes et/ou les étaler en stries pour l'ensemencement, par exemple, en vue d'obtenir des colonies individuelles. Le procédé de l'invention pour étaler un échantillon microbien en stries pour l'ensemencement sur un support solide comprend les étapes suivantes : a) mise en contact d'au moins une particule ferromagnétique avec un support solide, suivie ou précédée par le transfert d'au moins une partie dudit échantillon sur la particule, et b) application d'un gradient de champ magnétique pour permettre le déplacement contrôlé par champ magnétique de ladite particule sur ladite surface, de façon à étaler au moins une partie de l'échantillon en stries sur le support solide d'ensemencement. L'invention propose également un appareil pour la mise en uvre dudit procédé d'une façon (semi-)automatisée.
