Methods and apparatus are presented to allow one receiver architecture to be used for the reception of two different SDARS signals, such as, for example, one signal from XM Satellite Radio, the other signal from Sirius Satellite Radio. The methods and apparatus presented utilize common receiver functions to process each signal, thereby obviating the need to duplicate hardware elements. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, it can be assumed that both signals will not be received at the same time, thus allowing for considerable hardware reuse and lowering the cost of an interoperable receiver.

L'invention concerne des procédés et un appareil permettant d'utiliser une seule architecture de récepteur pour la réception de deux signaux SDARS différents, par exemple, un signal provenant d'une radio satellite XM, et l'autre provenant d'une radio satellite Sirius. Les procédés et appareil de l'invention assurent des fonctions de réception pour traiter chaque signal, ce qui permet de ne pas utiliser deux éléments matériels différents. Dans des modes de réalisation de l'invention, on peut supposer que les deux signaux ne seront pas reçus au même moment, ce qui permet de réutiliser le matériel de manière intensive et de réduire les coûts d'un récepteur interexploitable.
