ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention is concerned with methods and apparatuses for producing dry-formed adhesively bonded nonwoven fabrics. A loosely assembled, dry web of fibers is formed and confined between restraining members. One of the restraining members is a foraminous structure with adhesion retardant characteristics. Adhesive binder is applied to the surface of the confined web through the foraminous structure to the fibers of the web. The restraining members are then removed from the adhesively bonded nonwoven fabric.
