Methods and apparatus for measuring an electromagnetic radiation response property associated with a substrate and selecting a color for use by a personal care product recommendation system based on the measurement are disclosed. The method positions an electromagnetic source, an electromagnetic capture device, and a plurality of filters in a predetermined arrangement in order to construct an apparatus for measuring an electromagnetic radiation response property associated with a substrate. A retail customer self-aligns a portion of his/her body with the apparatus and triggers an electromagnetic measurement. Digital data is determined from captured electromagnetic waves. Based on the digital data, the customer is given certain choices and/or informed of certain personal care product recommendations.
L'invention concerne des procédés et un appareil permettant de mesurer une propriété de réponse de rayonnement électromagnétique associée à un substrat et de sélectionner une couleur, destinés à être utilisés par un système de recommandations concernant des produits de soins personnels se basant sur la mesure susmentionnée. Ce procédé consiste à placer une source électromagnétique, un dispositif de capture électromagnétique et plusieurs filtres selon un arrangement prédéterminé afin de construire un appareil permettant de mesurer une propriété de réponse de rayonnement électromagnétique associée à un substrat. Un acheteur au détail auto-aligne une partie de son corps avec l'appareil et déclenche une mesure électromagnétique. Des données numériques sont déterminées à partir d'ondes électromagnétiques capturées. En fonction de ces données numériques, le client peut effectuer certains choix et/ou est informé de certaines recommandations concernant des produits de soins personnels.
