METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR SEPARATING A GASEOUS MIXTURE INTO THE CONSTITUENT GASES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention provides a method and apparatus for separating individual gases constituting a gaseous mixture by ejecting the mixture in a potentially expansive state at supersonic speed through a divergent nozzle, and by allowing it to deflect at angles characteristic of the ratios of specific heat of the constituent gases. To facilitate the separation, a separator screen is provided within the limit of the maximum deflection angle with respect to the con- stituent gases to be separated. In this way, the gaseous constituents can be separated efficiently and quickly.
