The invention provides, in one aspect, a method for visualizing relationships among triples of an RDF data set. The method, which can be used with a data set already in RDF form or converted thereto (e.g., from relational, hierarchical or other form), includes the steps of grouping subjects (704) of at least selected ones of the triples based on commonality of at least portions of the identifiers of those subjects. It further includes grouping (706), for at least a selected subject groups (302), objects (304-310) based on commonality of at least portions of identifiers of the predicates of those triples. Icons representing the subject and object groups (302-310) can be displayed, e.g., on a computer monitor (300), or otherwise. A related aspect of the invention provides the additional step of displaying icons (708), e.g., directed arrows (312), indicating relationships among icons (302-310) that represent a direct graph-albeit a novel such graph that represents relationships among groups of subjects and objects, rather than directly between individual subjects and objects.
La présente invention concerne, par l'un de ses aspects, un procédé permettant de visualiser les relations entre triplets de fichiers RDF (Resource Description Framework). Le procédé, qui peut s'appliquer à des fichiers initialement en format RDF, ou convertis en format RDF, notamment à partir d'un format relationnel, hiérarchisé ou autre, nécessite de regrouper les sujets (704) de certains au moins des triplets sélectionnés, sur la base de traits communs de parties au moins des identifiants de ces sujets. Le procédé nécessite ensuite de regrouper (706), pour certains au moins des groupes de sujets sélectionnés (302), des objets (304 310) sur la base de traits communs de parties au moins des identifiants des prédicats de ces triplets. Les icônes représentant les groupes sujets et objets (302 310) peuvent être affichées, par exemple sur un écran d'ordinateur (300) ou d'une autre façon. Un aspect connexe de l'invention concerne une opération supplémentaire d'affichage icônes (708) telles que des flèches orientées (312), indiquant des relations entre icônes (302 310) qui représentent un graphe direct, en l'occurrence, un graphe selon l'invention représentant des relations entre groupes sujets et groupes objets, plutôt que directement entre sujets et objets pris isolément.
