ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a technique for alleviating the problem of banding or streaks of different color shades occuring in fabrics woven from synthetic yarns. The yarns are formed at metiers, wrapped onto packages, and placed onto transports. Yarns on a common transport have generally similar dyeing charac- teristics, whereas such characteristics differ from one transport to the next. The transports are positioned at a creel where the yarns are unwound from the packages and wrapped onto a beam in longitudinally adjacent fashion. The yarns are guided so as to form rows of yarns. The rows are vertically intermixed so that yarns from various transports are interposed between one another on the beam so as to eliminate the presence on the beam of large groups of yarns having similar dyeing characteristics.
