In one preferred embodiment, the present invention splits off some of the excess capacity gas flow from a gas concentrator (11) which is then stored (14) via liquefaction. The stored gas can then be used as a portable supply. A portion of the oxygen gas flow generated by the oxygen concentrator is channeled to a condenser (13) which receives and liquefies the oxygen gas using cryocooler (12). A storage dewar (14) is used for storing the oxygen liquefied by the condenser. Liquid is then selectively transferred to a smaller portable dewar (23). A controller can be used for monitoring the parameters of liquefaction, including oxygen concentration, the amount of liquid oxygen in the dewar, and for controlling the parameters of liquid oxygen generation and transfer.
Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, l'invention prélève une partie du flux de gaz de capacité excédentaire d'un concentrateur (11) de gaz lequel est ensuite stocké (14) par liquéfaction. Le gaz stocké peut ensuite être utilisé comme alimentation portative. Une partie de l'écoulement du gaz oxygène généré par le concentrateur d'oxygène est canalisée jusqu'au condenseur (13), lequel reçoit et liquéfie le gaz oxygène au moyen d'un cryorefroidisseur (12). Un Dewar de stockage (14) est utilisé pour stocker l'oxygène liquéfié par le condenseur. Du liquide est ensuite transféré sélectivement vers un Dewar portatif plus petit (23). On peut utiliser un contrôleur afin de surveiller les paramètres de liquéfaction, notamment la concentration d'oxygène, la quantité d'oxygène liquide dans le Dewar et afin de réguler les paramètres de production et de transfert d'oxygène liquide.
