The invention relates to methods and compositions for analyzing plant acetohydroxy acid synthase large subunit (AHASL) genes. In particular, the invention relates to methods for the detection of wild-type AHASL alleles and mutant AHASL alleles that encode imidazolinone-tolerant AHASL proteins. The methods involve the use of PCR amplification and novel compositions comprising allele-specific and gene-specific primers to detect the presence of mutant and/or wild-type alleles present at the individual AHASL genes of a plant. Specifically, the methods and compositions are useful for analyzing the three AHASL genes of Triticum aestivum and the two AHASL genes of Triticum turgidum ssp. durum.

Des procédés et des compositions d'analyse de gènes d'une sous-unité importante d'acétohydroxy acide synthase d'une plante (AHASL). Des procédés de détection d'allèles du type sauvage AHASL et d'allèles mutants AHASL codant des protéines tolérant l'imidazolinone AHASL. Les procédés impliquent l'utilisation d'une amplification en chaîne par polymérase et des nouvelles compositions comprenant des primaires spécifiques aux allèles et aux gènes afin de détecter la présence d'allèles de type sauvage et/ou mutants présents au niveau des gènes individuels AHASL dans une plante. Plus précisément, des procédés et des compositions se prêtant à l'analyse de trois gènes AHASL de Triticum aestivum et de deux gènes AHASL de Triticum turgidum ssp. durum.
