The present invention relates to a method to inhibit bacteria from adhering to a submergible surface. The method contacts the submergible surface with an ionene polymer and a salt of dodecylamine in a combined amount effective to inhibit bacterial adhesion to the submergible surface. The present invention also relates to a method for controlling biofouling of an aqueous system. This method adds an ionene polymer and a salt of dodecylamine in a combined amount effective to inhibit bacteria from adhering to a submerged surface within the aqueous system. This method effectively controls biofouling without substantially killing the fouling organisms. The present invention also relates to compositions containing an ionene polymer and a salt of dodecylamine and useable in the above methods. The compositions comprise an ionene polymer and a salt of dodecylamine in a combined amount effective to inhibit bacteria from adhering to submergible or submerged surfaces.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'empêcher les bactéries d'adhérer sur une surface immergeable. Selon le procédé, on met la surface immergeable en contact avec un polymère ionène et un sel de dodécylamine mélangés en des quantités efficaces pour empêcher l'adhésion bactérienne sur ladite surface. L'invention concerne également un procédé anti-biofouling d'un système aqueux. Selon le procédé, on ajoute un polymère ionène et un sel de dodécylamine mélangés en des quantités efficaces pour empêcher les bactéries d'adhérer sur une surface immergée dudit système. Ce procédé permet de lutter efficacement contre l'encrassement biologique sans tuer tous les organismes contenus dans les salissures. L'invention concerne également des compositions contenant un polymère ionène et un sel de dodécylamine, qui peuvent être utilisées dans ledit procédé. Ces compositions contiennent un polymère ionène et un sel de dodécylamine mélangés en des quantités efficaces pour empêcher les bactéries d'adhérer sur des surfaces immergeables ou immergées.
