Methods and compositions are provided for the treatment of articular cartilage defects and disease involving the combination of the tissue, such as osteochondral grafts, with active growth factor. The active growth factor is preferably a composition containing at least one bone morphogenetic protein and a suitable carrier. The method results in the regeneration of functional repair of articular cartilage tissue.

La présente invention concerne des procédés et des compositions permettant de traiter les imperfections et maladies affectant le cartilage articulaire, dans lesquels on utilise une combinaison de tissu, telles les greffes ostéochondrales, et d'un facteur de croissance actif. Le facteur de croissance actif est de préférence constitué par une composition contenant au moins une protéine osseuse morphogénétique et un excipient adéquat. Le procédé de l'invention permet la régénération ou la réparation tissulaire fonctionnelle du cartilage articulaire.
