Compositions and methods for modulating adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in cells via altering post-translational modifications of ATP synthase subunits or precursors thereof such as the ATP synthase .beta. chain and its precursor are provided. These compositions and methods are useful in preconditioning organs and preventing cell injury or cell death via regulating ATP synthesis or hydrolysis in cells of the organs.
L'invention concerne des compositions et des procédés de régulation de l'adénosine triphosphate (ATP), dans des cellules, par le biais d'un changement de modification post-translationnelle, de sous unités d'ATP synthase ou de leurs précurseurs, notamment la chaîne d'ATP synthase .beta. et son précurseur. Ces compositions et ces procédés sont utiles dans le préconditionnement des organes, et dans la prévention de lésions cellulaires ou de mort cellulaire, par le biais de la régulation de la synthèse ou de l'hydrolyse d'ATP dans les cellules desdits organes.
