A specific spectrum of plant and animal miRNAs confer enhanced resistance to virulent pathogens. Plants deficient in miRNA accumulation are hyper-susceptible to non-virulent bacterial pathogens, and virulent bacteria suppress miRNA pathways by means of injected type-Ill secreted (TTS) proteins. Methods and compositions for modulating the miRNA pathway in plants and animals are disclosed whereby adverse effects on plant and animal development are avoided or minimized.
Un spectre spécifique de microARN de plantes et d'animaux confère une résistance accrue aux pathogènes virulents. Les plantes présentant une accumulation de microARN insuffisante sont hypersensibles aux pathogènes bactériens non virulents, et les bactéries virulentes suppriment les voies des microARN au moyen de protéines sécrétées de type III (TTS) injectées. L'invention concerne des méthodes et des compositions destinées à moduler la voie des microARN dans des plantes et des animaux, et permettant de prévenir ou de réduire les effets indésirables sur le développement de ces plantes et de ces animaux.
