Methods of treating fungal infections are disclosed. The methods comprise administering a chitin synthesis inhibitor to a mammal in a continuous fashion so that at least a minimum effective concentration is maintained in the mammal's plasma or in a target organ. In a preferred embodiment, the administration is by continuous intravenous infusion and the fungal infection is due to Candida albicans. In another preferred embodiment, the administration is by a sustained release formulation and the fungal infection is due to Candida albicans.
L'invention concerne des procédés de traitement d'infections fongiques. Ces procédés consistent à administrer de façon continue à un mammifère un inhibiteur de synthèse de chitine, afin de maintenir au moins une concentration minimum efficace dans le plasma du mammifère ou dans un organe cible. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, on procède à l'administration par perfusion intraveineuse continue et l'infection fongique est provoquée par Candida albicans. Dans un autre mode de réalisation préféré, l'administration s'effectue au moyen d'une formulation à libération prolongée et l'infection fongique est provoquée par Candida albicans.
