Disclosed are methods and compositions for detecting the presence of a cancer in a subject and assessing the efficacy of treatments for the same. The disclosed method use reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and multiplex polymerase chain reaction techniques as well as Template Exchange Extension Reaction (TEER) to detect the presence of point mutations, truncations, or fusions of anaplastic lymphoma kinase.

L'invention concerne des méthodes et des compositions pour détecter la présence d'un cancer chez un sujet et évaluer l'efficacité de traitements anticancéreux. Les méthodes selon l'invention font appel à des techniques de réaction de polymérisation en chaîne couplée à une rétrotranscription (RT-PCR), et de réaction de polymérisation en chaîne multiplexe, ainsi qu'à la technique TEER (Template Exchange Extension Reaction) pour détecter la présence de mutations ponctuelles, troncatures, ou fusions de la kinase du lymphome anaplasique.
