The present invention relates to devices, and methods for using the devices, to create and secure a tissue fold during an endoluminal medical procedure. The devices and methods may be used for folding and securing, for example, a fundus wall onto an esophagus wall or esophageal tissue in the region of the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) to reduce the diameter of the esophagus opening in that region. One aspect of the invention includes forming the tissue fold by closing a grasping arm that is pivotably connected to an overtube that has been positioned at the juncture of the fundus wall and esophagus wall. A further aspect of the invention includes tissue clips configured to be inserted and positioned through an endoluminal device.

Cette invention a trait à des dispositifs, ainsi qu'aux procédés correspondants, permettant de former un pli tissulaire et de ligaturer celui-ci lors d'une intervention chirurgicale endoluminale. Il est possible d'utiliser ces dispositifs pour replier et ligaturer, par exemple, une paroi de fond sur une paroi oesophagienne ou un tissu oesophagien dans la zone du sphincter oesophagien inférieur (LES) et ce, afin de réduire le diamètre de l'orifice oesophagien dans cette région. Dans un des aspects de cette invention, le procédé consiste à former un pli tissulaire en fermant une pince à préhension connectée pivotante à un tube en surplomb positionné à la jonction de la paroi de la paroi de fond et de la paroi oesophagienne. Dans un autre mode de réalisation de l'invention, on utilise des agrafes pour tissu, configurées pour être insérées et mises en place au moyen d'un dispositif endoluminal.
