Easy to use, cost-effective methods and devices for evaluating and treating stress and thereby disorders caused or exacerbated by stress are provided. More particularly methods and devices for identifying RSA waves during respiration which provide a subject with realtime RSA wave information are provided. These methods and devices also can be used to identify drop points in RSA waves. Such methods and devices provide subjects with the ability to maintain parasympathetic outflow and thereby prevent and/or reduce levels of stress.

Cette invention concerne des procédés et des dispositifs faciles à utiliser et efficaces en terme de coûts, pour évaluer et traiter le stress et, partant, les troubles causés ou exacerbés par le stress. Cette invention concerne plus particulièrement des procédés et des dispositifs permettant d'identifier les ondes d'arythmie sinusale respiratoire (RSA) pendant la respiration, qui fournissent à un sujet des informations d'ondes RSA en temps réel. Ces procédés et ces dispositifs peuvent également servir à identifier les points de chute des ondes RSA. Ces procédés et ces dispositifs offrent aux sujets la capacité de préserver l'influx parasympathique et empêcher et/ou réduire ainsi les niveaux de stress.
