The present invention includes methods and devices for providing sustained in- vivo release of an active agent to a subject. In some aspects, such release may be achieved by reacting an active agent in-vivo with a depot forming agent in order to form a sustained release active agent depot inside the subject. The depot can then release the active agent over a sustained period of time.

L'invention concerne des procédés et des dispositifs permettant d'assurer la libération in vivo prolongée d'un agent actif dans un sujet. Selon certains aspects de l'invention, la libération peut être obtenue par la mise en réaction in vivo d'un agent actif avec un agent formant un dépôt, de manière qu'un agent actif à libération prolongée soit formé à l'intérieur du sujet. Le dépôt peut ensuite libérer l'agent actif sur une période prolongée.
