A method of diagnosing Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) in a subject in need thereof is provided. The method comprising determining a presence and/or a level of anti-CCL3 antibodies in a biological sample of the subject, wherein the presence or level above a predetermined threshold is indicative of T1DM, thereby diagnosing T1DM in the subject. Also provided are a kit for diagnosing T1DM and a method of monitoring anti diabetic treatment.

L'invention concerne une méthode de diagnostic du diabète de type 1 (T1DM) chez un sujet le nécessitant. Cette méthode consiste à déterminer une présence et/ou un taux d'anticorps anti-CCL3 dans un échantillon biologique du sujet. Une valeur pour cette présence ou ce taux supérieure à un seuil prédéterminé est indicatrice d'un diabète sucré de type 1, d'où le diagnostic du diabète sucré de type 1 chez ledit sujet. L'invention concerne également une trousse pour le diagnostic du diabète sucré de type 1 et une méthode de surveillance d'un traitement antidiabétique.
