METHODS AND MATERIALS FOR COLLECTING PARTICULATE SAMPLES AND PREPARING FOR MICROSCOPIC EXAMINATION ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A sheet material laminate comprising a) a layer of water-insoluble sheet material and b) a solidified water-soluble adhesive coating upon one surface of the sheet material, with the adhesive layer having a thickness between about 0.0004 and 0.0020 inches. Preferably the adhesive contains a vinyl polymer and more preferably the adhesive comprises a polyvinyl alcohol polymer or a mixture of polyvinyl alcohols. The sheet material laminate is useful in the collection of airborne or settled particles for particle analysis.
