A system and method for remediation of contaminated soil removed from a soil site is provided. The contaminated soil is placed upon several layers of perforated heating pipes forming a remediation cell, and the entire cell is covered by a galvanized Quonset Hut-shaped steel building to prevent the escape of vapors from the soil cell. Heating air introduced into perforated heating pipes heats conductively the contaminated soil orating a differential pressure area around the heated pipes. This results in the migration of volatilized contaminants and moisture through the perforations in the pipe walls and into the lower pressure area within the heated steel pipes, forcing the contaminants from the soil and into an off-gas treatment system.
L'invention concerne un système et un procédé d'assainissement d'un sol contaminé retiré d'un endroit. Le sol contaminé est placé sous plusieurs couches de conduites de chauffage perforées formant une cellule d'assainissement et toute la cellule est recouverte d'une construction légère à toiture cintrée en acier galvanisé afin d'éviter la fuite de vapeurs de la cellule du sol. L'air chauffant introduit dans les conduites de chauffage chauffe le sol contaminé ce qui a pour effet de créer une zone de pression différentielle autour des conduites de chauffage. Ceci se traduit par le migration de contaminants et d'humidité volatilisés à travers les perforations pratiquées dans les parois des conduites et dans la zone de pression plus basse se trouvant dans les conduites en acier chauffées, ce qui pousse les contaminants en provenance du sol vers un système de traitement des effluents gazeux.
