Methods and systems for providing a name-based communication service. A system may comprise an input for receiving from a first communication device a name registered in connection with the communication service and provided by a user of the first communication device. The system may also comprise a processing entity for: identifying a profile associated with the name and configured by a party having registered the name; determining, based on the profile, at least one action to perform from among a plurality of actions performable by said system, the plurality of actions including: (i) transmitting to the first communication device information regarding the party and included in the profile; and (ii) attempting to establish a phone call between the first communication device and a second communication device associated with the party; and performing the at least one action.
L'invention porte sur des procédés et des systèmes qui permettent de fournir un service de communication sur la base de noms. Un système selon l'invention peut comprendre une entrée destinée à recevoir, en provenance d'un premier dispositif de communication, un nom enregistré lié à un service de communication, nom qui est fourni par un utilisateur du premier dispositif de communication. Le système peut aussi comprendre une entité de traitement qui identifie un profil associé au nom, profil qui est configuré par une partie ayant enregistré le nom, et qui détermine, sur la base du profil, au moins une action à effectuer parmi une pluralité d'actions pouvant être effectuées par ledit système, la pluralité d'actions consistant à: (i) transmettre au premier dispositif de communication des informations concernant la partie, informations qui sont comprises dans le profil; et (ii) tenter d'établir un appel téléphonique entre le premier dispositif de communication et un second dispositif de communication associé à la partie; et réaliser l'action.
