Methods for detecting an infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) in a subject are disclosed. The methods include detecting the presence of CD8+ T cells that specifically recognize an Mtb polypeptide. The methods include in vitro assays for detecting the presence of CD8+ T cells in a biological sample, andin vivo assays that detect a delayed type hypersensitivity reaction. The methods can also' include detecting Mtb polypeptides and polynucleotides. Reagents for the detection of an Mtb infection are also disclosed.

L'invention concerne des procédés pour détecter une infection par Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) chez un sujet. Ces procédés consistent à détecter la présence de lymphocytes T CD8+ qui reconnaissent spécifiquement un polypeptide Mtb. Ces procédés comprennent des essais in vitro permettant de détecter la présence de lymphocytes T CD8+ dans un échantillon biologique, ainsi que des essais in vivo qui détectent une réaction d'hypersensibilité retardée. Les procédés selon l'invention peuvent consister également à détecter des polynucléotides et des polypeptides Mtb. L'invention concerne par ailleurs des réactifs pour la détection d'une infection par Mtb.
