The present invention is based on the discovery that three proteins, Cystatin B, Chaperonin 10, and ProfÊlin are present in the urine of patients with bladder cancer, a cancer of epithelial origin. Accordingly, the present invention is directed to methods for prognostic evaluation of cancers of epithelial origin and to methods for facilitating diagnosis of cancers of epithelial origin by monitoring the presence of these markers in biological samples. The invention is also directed to markers for therapeutic efficacy.
La présente invention concerne une découverte selon laquelle trois protéines, la cystatine B, la chaperonine 10 et la profiline, sont présentes dans l'urine de patients souffrant d'un cancer de la vessie, d'un cancer d'origine épithéliale. Par conséquent, cette invention a pour objet des méthodes d'évaluation pronostique de cancers d'origine épithéliale et des méthodes servant à faciliter le diagnostic de cancers d'origine épithéliale, par surveillance de la présence de ces marqueurs dans des échantillons biologiques. Ladite invention a aussi pour objet des marqueurs à efficacité thérapeutique.
