Methods are provided for the fabrication of polymeric microchannel structures having enclosed microchannels of capillary dimension. The microchannel structures are constructed of a base member (12) and a cover member (14), sealed together. A microchannel structure having walls of a plastic material is formed in a generally planar surface of at least the base member. The cover member has at least one generally planar surface, and the microchannel structure is enclosed by bonding the planar surfaces of the cover member and the base member together. In some embodiments the surfaces of the cover member and base member are both of plastic material, and are directly thermally bonded. In some embodiments a bonding material is applied to one of the surfaces prior to bringing the surfaces together. Suitable bonding material are disclosed.
On décrit des procédés de fabrication de structures à microcanaux polymériques comportant des microcanaux fermés de dimension capillaire. Lesdites structures à microcanaux sont constituées d'un élément de base (12) et d'un élément couvrant (14) scellés ensemble. Une structure à microcanaux munie de parois en plastique est formée sur une surface généralement planaire d'au moins l'élément de base. L'élément couvrant comprend au moins une surface généralement planaire, et la structure à microcanaux est fermée par collage des surfaces planaires de l'élément couvrant et de l'élément de base. Dans certains modes de réalisation, les surfaces de l'élément couvrant et de l'élément de base sont toutes deux faites en matière plastique et directement thermosoudées. Dans d'autres modes de réalisation, une matière adhésive est appliquée sur une des surfaces préalablement à son assemblage avec l'autre surface. On décrit en outre des matériaux adhésifs efficaces.
