The present invention identifies compounds that disrupt the interaction between anthrax proteins and LRP5/6 receptors, resulting in a reduction in anthrax toxic-ity. The compounds act to disrupt the intracellular transport of toxin complexes into a target cell. The present invention also provides methods for testing the effect of compounds on Wnt activity, through the use of in vitro experiments in-volving cells that have in at least one gene mutation in-volved in the Wnt pathway.
La présente invention concerne des composés perturbant l'interaction entre les protéines de l'anthrax et les récepteurs LRP5/6, avec pour résultat une réduction de la toxicité de l'anthrax. Ces composés agissent de façon à perturber le transport intercellulaire de complexes de toxines en direction d'une cellule cible. La présente invention concerne également des procédés permettant de tester l'effet de composés sur l'activité Wnt, grâce au recours à des expériences in vitro impliquant des cellules présentant au moins une mutation d'un gène impliqué dans la voie Wnt.
