Disclosed are methods for improving the efficiency of cooling tow- ers having plastic fill surfaces therein comprising applying to the plastic surface an aqueous solution of an amine functional silane. When poly- vinyl chloride is used as cooling tower fill, the methods of the present in- vention provide for faster water evaporation and a more efficient cooling tower.
