Methods of the present invention obtain dynamic data sets of an NMR spectroscopy signal of polarized 129Xe in a selected structure, environment, or system. The signal data can be used to evaluate: (a) the physiology of a membrane or tissue; (b) the operational condition or function of a body system or portion thereof (when at rest or under stimulation); and/or (c) the efficacy of a therapeutic treatment used to treat a diagnosed disorder, disease, or condition. Thus, the present invention provides methods for screening and/or diagnosing a respiratory, cardiapulmonary disorder or disease such as chronic heart failure, and/or methods for monitoring the efficacy of therapeutics administered to subject to treat the disorder or disease.
Les méthodes de la présente invention obtiennent des ensembles de données dynamiques d'un signal de spectroscopie RMN de ?129¿Xe polarisé dans une structure, un environnement ou un système sélectionné. Les données du signal peuvent être utilisées pour évaluer: (a) la physiologie d'une membrane ou d'un tissu; (b) l'état ou la fonction opérationnelle d'un système du corps ou d'une partie de celui-ci (au repos ou sous stimulation); et/ou (c) l'efficacité d'un traitement thérapeutique utilisé pour traiter un trouble, une maladie ou un état diagnostiqué. Ainsi, la présente invention fournit des méthodes de dépistage et/ou de diagnostic d'un trouble ou d'une maladie respiratoire, cardio-pulmonaire telle que l' insuffisance cardiaque chronique, et/ou des méthodes de contrôle de l'efficacité d'une thérapeutique administrée à un sujet pour traiter le trouble ou la maladie.
