The invention provides new methods of treatment using TGF-.beta.3 to inhibit scarring in humans, and TGF-.beta.3 for new uses in the inhibition of scarring in humans. In a first incidence of treatment TGF-.beta.3 is provided to each centimetre of a wound margin or each centimetre of a site at which a wound is to be formed in a first therapeutically effective amount; and in a subsequent incidence of treatment TGF-.beta.3 is provided to each centimetre of wound margin in a larger therapeutically effective amount of TGF-.beta.3. The incidences of treatment occur between 8 hours and 48 hours apart from one another. The TGF-.beta.3 may be provided by intradermal injection. Also provided are kits and methods of selecting an appropriate treatment regime for inhibiting scarring associated with the healing of a human wound.
La présente invention concerne de nouveaux procédés de traitement qui utilisent le facteur de croissance transformant TGF-ß3 pour inhiber la cicatrisation chez des êtres humains, ainsi que le TGF-ß3 pour de nouvelles utilisations visant à inhiber la cicatrisation chez des êtres humains. Dans un premier cas de traitement, le TGF-ß3 est administré à chaque centimètre d'un bord de plaie, ou à chaque centimètre d'un siège où une plaie s'est formée, à raison d'une première quantité thérapeutiquement efficace; et dans un cas de traitement subséquent, le TGF-ß3 est administré à chaque centimètre de bord de plaie à raison d'une quantité accrue et thérapeutiquement efficace de TGF-ß3. Les traitements sont appliqués à des intervalles de 8 heures à 48 heures. Le TGF-ß3 peut être administré par injection intradermique. L'invention concerne également des trousses et des procédés permettant de choisir un schéma thérapeutique approprié pour inhiber la cicatrisation associée au processus de guérison d'une plaie humaine.
