Improved coatings and methods for manufacturing coated confectionary or chewing gum products are provided. Polyol coatings can be formed while polyols are in a molten state. Trehalose can also be used to form coatings on a confection or chewing gum by applying the trehalose while in a molten state.

L'invention porte sur des améliorations apportées à des enrobages et sur des procédés de fabrication de confiseries et de gomme à mâcher enrobées- Il est possible de former des enrobages de polyol lorsque ces polyols sont à l'état fondu. On peut également utiliser la tréhalose pour former des enrobages sur une confiserie ou une gomme à mâcher en appliquant la tréhalose à l'état fondu.
