Methods for obtaining paclitaxel from plants containing paclitaxel are disclosed. Plant material is first obtained from plants containing paclitaxel. Paclitaxel is then extracted from the plant material. Subsequently, paclitaxel is separated from the paclitaxel extract using a series of column chromatography separation steps to obtain at least one fraction containing paclitaxel. The paclitaxel in a fraction that is obtained from the final chromatography step is crystallized. Using these methods, high purity paclitaxel may be efficiently obtained from plants containing paclitaxel.

L'invention concerne des procédés permettant d'obtenir du paclitaxel à partir de plantes contenant du paclitaxel.L'élément végétal est d'abord obtenu à partir de plantes contenant du paclitaxel. Le paclitaxel est ensuite extrait de l'élément végétal. Par la suite, le paclitaxel est séparé de l'extrait de paclitaxel en procédant par étapes de séparation par chromatographie sur colonne de façon à obtenir au moins une fraction contenant du paclitaxel. Le paclitaxel en une fraction obtenu à partir de l'étape finale de chromatographie est cristallisé. En utilisant ces procédés, du paclitaxel pur peut être obtenu avec efficacité à partir de plantes contenant du paclitaxel.
